The Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship is a financial aid program that is rum by the Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates along with her wife Melinda Gates. The money is made available for those students who hail from the low strata of the society who are unable to complete their higher education due to paucity of money. The amount so availed can be used to pay for the total cost of attendance for the undergraduate studies in the field of public health, technology, management, law etc. For the year 2010, the scholarship would only be available to the students who are of the following origins:

• African American
• Alaska Native
• American Indian
• Pacific & Asian Islander

The Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship has achieved a retention rate of 87.7% and graduation rate of 79.9% since 2005. The scholarship is applicable to all the colleges in 50 states under USA and till date more than 13,000 students got financial help with this program type. The application procedure is done online and hence students are free from any kind of leviathan paperwork. The form for the scholarship in 2011 has begun and the last date to fill in the form with complete details is 10th January, 2011. There are 3 different forms needed to be submitted and they are:

• Nominee Personal Information Form
• Nominator Form
• Recommender Form
